Nondestructive Evaluation of Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Using Microwave Techniques: A Review

Carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) is widely acknowledged as a leading advanced material structure, offering superior properties compared to traditional materials, and has found diverse applications in several industrial sectors, such that of automobiles, aircrafts, power plants. However, the production CFRP composites prone fabrication problems, structural defects arising from cycling aging processes. Identifying these at an early stage crucial prevent service issues could result catastrophic failures. Hence, routine inspection maintenance are system collapse. To achieve this objective, conventional nondestructive testing (NDT) methods utilized inspect components. restricted field penetration within makes NDT approaches ineffective. Recently, microwave techniques have been developed address challenges associated with by providing better more precise results. This paper offers review primary employed composites, emphasizing microwave-based their key features.
